Day Guiding

Julian Sykes Wildlife Holidays offer full & half day tours that cover all the major sites around the area. The regions of Valencia, Alicante, & Albacete have a great deal to offer the travelling & holidaying birdwatcher/wildlife enthusiast with lots of varied habitats with many quality species.

It also boasts two of the most accessible airports in Europe with Alicante & Valencia, and in-expensive flights can be found with a little searching on the internet. Being a very popular for tourism in general there is plenty for the non-birdwatching members of the family/group to occupy their time. Julian has spent a lot of time birdwatching the well known sites around the region and the best times to visit them, as well as investigating other new areas. Having over 5 years experience in this part of Spain we are very confident he can provide a quality service in this interesting area. It is our intention to maintain a very enjoyable and relaxed pace during the tour that will suit all needs. During the day out we shall also look for other species of fauna, with some excellent reptiles, amphibians, butterflies and dragonflies to be found.

  • All day tours are conducted by guides with extensive knowledge of the local fauna.
  • Tours will be in comfortable air-conditioned vehicles
  • The tour includes everything from all transport costs (tolls, fuel, etc),
park entrance fees, picnic lunch (where applicable), light refreshments

This fantastic area hosts a good population of Great Bustards - the world's heaviest flying birds, and we shall hopefully see them wandering across the landscape in majestic fashion. During the day we shall also look out for Little Bustards (scarce), Black bellied & Pin tailed Sandgrouse, Stone Curlews, Calandra Larks, Rock Sparrows, Hen Harriers, Red Kite and Merlin.
